Sweatshop

'Shop' was simply the brief that we were given, and along with the brief we were given two words as 'inspiration' and ours were 'sweatshop' and 'thrift'.

The fact that our final outcome was based on was that the average pay for a sweatshop worker in India is 10p/item. So we set about setting up our own sweatshop, spending as little money as possible. Over the course of 3 days (or 36 hours) we succeeded in reaching our target of 300 10p cushions.

A short film was recorded over the three days and it was shown along with the sweatshop itself, wreaking of secondhand clothes and spray paint.

Augustus

Recreating the a tall tail of our choosing. We focused on the story of 'Augustus Gloop' in the story of charlie and the chocolate factory.

'North/South'

We were asked by the brief to comment on the theoretical north/south divide in Britain. As a group we quickly started searching for a fact to base our project on and came across a study that revealed that the pace of life the the south of the country was considerably higher than in the north. This in itself may not be surprising, however this faster pace of life has resulted in a significantly rise in the rate of stress complaints and even heart trouble. So we set about physically trying to slow southerners, pin pointing londoners, down by creating office attire that forced them to slow down there pace of life.

A fashion shoot later came of this, and a 'lookbook' will follow on the near future.

'I want you to picture a bullet inside your head'

A typography project labeled 'Chattermat'. The theme me and tony chose was that of 'ambiguity'. The quote was chose from kiss kiss bang bang was ambiguous however overall I think we shot well wide of the ambiguity mark. However I am pleased with the way the layouts came out so thought I would put it up here anyway.

'Reign'

Photography project asking us to describe/portray a word of our choosing without using the word itself. After choosing the word 'reign' I set about looking at architectural photography, I drew a lot of influence form the very string line and angles and wanted to incorporate this into my work. The overall feeling I tried to achieve was one of strength, foundation, solidity and prominence.
